Zombies

*crack* The sound of bones crunching as she tumbled to the ground, still firing. Holly aimed again and landed a shot right between the eyes of a blonde girl. she dodged to the left as the zombie"s brain matter splattered the walls and ceiling around her. Shaking her raven hair from her eyes, she lunged forward and strode off into the desert. She walked along until the sun began to set, coming upon a large boulder Holly propped one foot on top of it and stretched her tired muscles. A moment later she felt her booted heel lock into place. A hidden trigger, The rock face before her slid to one side and Holly found herself gazing into a cave. It was shallow and smelled of the damp darkness. none the less she gazed deeply, blinking against the darkness. She saw, off to one side, a pile of kindling, perfect for fire starting. She glanced briefly over one shoulder before ducking her head and stepping into the darkness of the unknown.

Bernice jerked out of her dream her hand instantly on her katana. someone found the switch to her hideout. slowly she strode towards the exit of her room that branched off from the main entrance. peeking around the corner she saw a dark shape crouched in front of a fire.
"shit" she swore to herself. she had hoped that maybe a walker or two had accidentally found the switch and just found their way in, walkers were easy to deal with, humans on the other hand... humans were a completely different creature. silently she crept up behind the figure and drew her katana with a slight metallic hum as it slid against the sheath. quickly she drew it to the figures throat.
"dontcha move now, or your dead" she said in a thick west indies accent

"Whoa Lady" Holly exclaimed, startled. "I didn't mean to intrude." She stood, ever so slowly, and turned to face her combatant, she felt the cool metal slide across her neck, one hand behind her back grasping the handle of a revolver tucked down the back of her jeans.

Bernice let the girl step away but still maintained her defensive stance.
"Best save your bullets for something deadlier than me girl."

Holly recoiled as soon as she was released. she took two steps back before letting her hand fall to her side. "You'r probably right on that one." She extended her hand, "Names Holly."

She shook the girls hand. "Nice to meet you Bernice. So this must be your little slice of heaven I've stumbled upon." Holly said, gesturing around the cavern.

"For now, until i get to florida. Let me give you the tour" she walked a short semi circle around the cave.
"That's about it, except for a room that I have been using to sleep in, and then another one farther back that i use for a bathroom, are you hungry?"

Holly's stomach chose that exact moment to give an extra loud gurgle. "Starving." She replied. I was on a food raid and got swarmed by walkers. I found this by accident and thought it looked like a safe place to rest."

Bernice laughed at the loud gurgle and signaled Holly to follow her.
"Im about due for another food raid and could use the extra hands, but I got some good stuff left, I'm not a good cook though."

Holly followed Bernice to the back of the room. "Much easier with a partner. I was teamed up with this one guy for a few months but he was too slow, got bit. Had to put him down."
